There are a few grammar structures that we English speaker have trouble with. One is the le for past tense. To put a le after a verb can make it the past tense but if you put it after the verb and another le after the object it makes it an ongoing action. When you get out on the street some people’s grammar is not the best so it becomes one le to mean ongoing action. We have that problem in English also when people of a lower education level use the wrong tenses or mix up when to use I and me. It is something to be sensitive to in order to learn how to use grammar properly. The other that I have most problems with are the dou, not all or all and ye meaning also.
Here is a list of sentence structures that should be memorized:
1. I want to see every place Wo shenme defang dou xihuan kan
2. He doesn’t go any place Ta nar ye bu qu
3. I haven’t been to all those places (Notice when using Mei or not in the past there is no Le) Nei xie defang wo mei dou qu guo.
4 Anyone can go Shei dou neng qu
5 Xiao Ma won’t speak with anyone Xiao ma gen shei ye bu shuo hua
6. None of the days will do Nei tian ye bu xing
7. I won’t give him anything Wo shenme ye bu gei ta
8 He wants to buy anything. Ta shenme dou yao mai
9. He comes every day Ta meitian dou lai
10. Today no one can come. Jintian shei bu neng lai. Memorize these sentences and it will help your study of Chinese grammar tremendously.
