Coffee in each country is a bit different. Originally the best coffee was Italy and France. Spain was ok but not great. We called American coffee dish water because it was so light and Brazilian coffee use to be considered the ultimate in Coffees. Turkish coffee is fun to watch as it boils over in the pot. Over the years with the popularity of Starbucks the taste in Coffee has changed. American’s drink Coffee instead of water. Consequently the American concept is to have a very light coffee. Originally the Italia and French coffees were very strong but today they have started to become like American Coffee. The Spanish coffee hasn’t changed. It is very strong and one cup will keep you wide away for a few hours as if you have taken some kind of a drug. The popular coffee’s today all have a burnt taste. With the popularity of Starbucks people’s taste has changed. The flavor has become much lighter and also very expensive. Another popular theme in America today is to have flavored coffees. They may be flavored with the taste of Almonds, Chocolate or Vanilla for example. Then the varieties have been spiced up with different flavored milks that might have these same flavors that you can put into your favorite coffee. I like coffee to wake me up. When I have returned from overseas and have to drive, one cup of Spanish coffee keeps me going for a few hours or until I get home. Try all the different kinds as it is an adventure of a trip around the world in a coffee cup.
