This morning it was all over the new in America that the grand jury in the trial of the shooting of Michael Brown came to a decision but nowhere did it say what the decision was. As I opened the Shanghai daily I read at the top of the page that the grand jury found there was no wrong doing by the policeman who shot an unarmed young black boy at close range. China published the decision; USA did not. While I was in Ohio there was a big stir in a prison in New York City. It was on the front page in New York. In Ohio there was a tiny little paragraph on the last page. No one in Ohio had any idea what was happening. I know my Chinese friends think the news is very much controlled in China but I find all over the world this is the case. When I watch CCTV news in China I’m amazed that the news is as truthful as it is. Most countries have control from higher ups what goes to print and what doesn’t. Also today there is less social responsibility be it in news, government or business. The only way a person can actually be informed in to read the news from a few different sources.
