I tried to help a young guitar maker get some clients as I knew he was very talented and had not yet learned how sell his wares. The first two guitars, I hand carried to Taiwan. They were such a success two more were ordered. Many people don’t realize that the spruce guitars a better if the maker is really an artist. Spruce keeps getting better and better. A Cedar top sound good right away but stops improving after a few months and are not as clear in tone. The first guitars we sent to Taiwan were one of each. As the customers had both to compare for the future they requested two spruce guitars. When the first lot was requested the young guitar maker knowing spruce was better started to make the two both with spruce tops. I had to make him change to one of spruce and one of cedar as requested. The second order came and he made a mistake. Although we told him two spruce. He just remembered how I had him change to one of each the first time. He had fallen into a mind set. The second order was for two spruce guitars. Shipping or an airline ticket to Taiwan for one guitar is the same as for two guitars. As he made a mistake and didn’t read his email we only had one spruce guitar. That meant he didn’t have any money for Christmas or not until he makes another spruce guitar!!
