I have compared several schools before my decision. I want to learn Chinese well and I also like to know Chinese culture. And I think the attitude of the teacher, the consultant here are all very positive. I like to stay with them and get the care from th
One of the major problems in the past and the present is the over population in China. There are
people everywhere. It also has changed the way Chinese people think. If they are not in a crowd of people
they are not happy. They feel secure if a lot of people are around. If they see a place with not people in it
they rarely go in. I took a course on culture difference that was a lot of fun. What I remember about the course
was that the Americans demand the most distance between each other to feel comfortable. America is big
and we have lots of space. It was possible to make an American angry by getting too close. Consequently it
is easy to see who are close friends by the distance between them. The American speaking with an Arab finds
it difficult as they feel the Arab is putting his face right in his face. When in China people are touching each other
all the time but not in an aggressive way. It just is. It is something that happens naturally and doesn’t have any
meaning. If that happens in Spain or Italy it is usually a man making a pass at a woman and has quite other
connotations. In China, the Cheng yu Ren Shan Ren hai is used a lot. It means there are lots and lots of people.
Ren means people, Shan means mountain and Hai means sea. In English we would say a Sea of people.
The Chinese equivalent is Ren Shan Ren Hai. When you find yourself in a situation like that, just relax as that
is China and say Ren Shan Ren Hai .
